Naara for shisha is made from 100% natural coconut shells, offering odourless and flavourless heat. By eliminating the sulfur and chemical additives found in quick-light coals, Naara guarantees the purest taste of your shisha session every single time.

You must use an electric coil burner or a dedicated single-coil stovetop to light our briquettes. Place the coals on the hot coil, flipping them halfway through, until they are fully glowing red on all sides (this usually takes 8-12 minutes). They must be completely lit before placing them on your hookah bowl to ensure consistent, long-lasting heat. It is not recommended to use gas lighters or lighter fluid, this could alter the taste.

Fully ignited, Naara briquettes provide 60 to 90 minutes of reliable, consistent heat. This extended performance ensures a longer and more enjoyable hookah session with fewer interruptions.

Yes, for optimal results. To maintain even heat distribution and prevent the shisha tobacco from burning in one spot, it is best practice to slightly rotate or reposition the coals every 15-20 minutes. This essential technique also helps ensure the coals burn down evenly and reduces unnecessary ash buildup on the bowl.

Naara offers a variety of shapes (CUBE, HEXA, DOME, etc.) because one size does not fit all setups. Each shape is specifically engineered to optimise performance, allowing for maximum surface contact or precision heat placement depending on whether you are using foil, an HMD, or a small bowl. This variety guarantees stable and consistent temperature control across the tobacco bowl, regardless of your equipment.

Lump Charcoal is irregular in size and shape, lights very quickly, and burns extremely hot, offering a natural, dynamic smoky flavour perfect for short, high-heat searing cooks. 

Sawdust Briquettes are uniform in shape, engineered to burn significantly longer and cooler with highly consistent, predictable heat. They are the superior choice for extended low-and-slow smoking sessions or long barbecue cooks requiring steady temperature control.

Temperature is regulated by controlling the air intake and exhaust. To raise the heat, open both the bottom and top vents to increase oxygen flow. To lower the heat, restrict the airflow by partially closing the vents. Remember to primarily use the bottom vents to control the air feeding the Naara charcoal.

We advise using a charcoal chimney starter. Fill it, light a natural starter or newspaper underneath, and wait 15–20 minutes until the coals are mostly covered with light gray ash. Then, transfer the hot coals to your grill. Avoid all chemical lighter fluids.

The proper technique is to always add new charcoal that is 100% lit. We recommend lighting the supplemental batch separately in your chimney starter. Once the new coals are glowing red, introduce them to the main fire bed. This “hot-adding” method ensures temperature consistency and prevents the introduction of acrid smoke that occurs when adding cold, unlit charcoal.
